Goodbye Glasgow

A year have passed. Thinking about it now made time seem to have took a leap. Well, it's always like this isn't it? When everything is done and it's time to move on, time seem to have passed quickly. I've finally graduated and am really happy with the results. However, I will never be able to forget the time I've had here in Glasgow. I've even gotten used to the weather. Wonder how am I to survive the burning hot weather back in Malaysia. Take another few months to get used to I guess.

I'm certainly going to miss this place, Glasgow. Well, it's not much of an exciting place by itself. It's the company that I have with me that made the year exciting. I've travelled so many places within this one year, backpacking from country to country. An adventurous life... hehehe well, sort of. I've always liked to travel and see other peoples culture and country. Sort of like wandering from place to place. Hahaha... a dream partly fulfilled. I've got a feel of Europe now. Countries with great histories, folklore and architechtures. Certainly made where I come from seem boring.

Well, a working life is ahead of me now. Got to lay down a nice path for myself. Hope everyone will keep in touch. Hehe, but I have a feeling it's not that easy.

Taking a break

Phew... Hmm... seems like I like taking long breaks between posting a blog... When was the last... I think I was still having my final exam and was taking a break then. Anzway, it's been more than a month since my last paper. Well, I'll finally gotten over with my degree exam and am on my Europe tour.

It's been a long tour, 19 days now if I'm not mistaken. We started on the 1st of June to Brugges, Belgium and will be ending soon too. My last destination will be Lucens, Switzerland before heading back to Glasgow for my graduation. Yup, after a long tension debate about the AUT strike and the Universities, we finally get to graduate, and well on the proposed date too. So tere won't be any delay.

I'm now posting from Slovenia. What? Don't know about this place?? Hahaha... well neither did I. till yesterday. It's a quiet place the place I'm staying, Ljubljana, but if you go down to Portoroz, then you'll get to see the beautiful Adriatic sea. Spectacular... clear water... but not many beaches though. Tomorrow, I'll be heading to Lucens... mz last destination... time sure flies. Well, I can't be writing out about mz trip as it'll take ages to finish. To summarise the places I've been, well, from Brugges, Belgium to Amsterdam, Holland (try the space cake ;-p), to Munich, Germany, then to Prague, Czech. From there, to Bratislava, Slovakia (nothing much here... really a small quiet town), and then to Vienna and Salzburg, Austria. Next to Ljubljana, Slovenia and finallz will be heading to Lucens Switzerland. Phew... tiring but great trip... Spent most my time in a train though.

Ohh... by the way... my results were out on the17th... Congrats to those who got 1st class and well done those who got 2nd.

9th Malaysian Plan

Ehh.... I was reading the news on thestar.com.my just now... Came across an article on the 9th Malaysian Plan (9MP). There was nothing on it about letting pharmacists do the drugs dispensing for doctor's prescriptions yet... Ehh... how come??

Some funny weather...

My final exams are coming. What does this mean? Well, it means I'm stuck again in this 8 by 8 cell. Daily, I've been studying facing the window, my only way of having a glance at the outside world, to know the world is still there... Who knows? If I've not looked out at all, Armageddon might have happened outside without me knowing. Ahh... just joking, no need to be so sensitive. Anyway, just the other day, while I was reading, glancing out the window, I had another experience of Glasgows weird weathers. Remember me mentioning about the weird winds and sudden rains? Aha... this time, I wonder how the weather forecaster mentioned it? "And tomorrow, we'll be expecting a cloudy day with rain AND bright sun-shiny day with clear blue sky in Glasgow" <--??!!?? HHUUHH???!! Well, it was dark clouds with rain and bright sunshine with clear blue sky coming alternately, and it alternates each hour... For the whole day... well almost... So it was dark and rainy one hour and bright sun shiny the next and then rain and then sunshine and then... ahh you get what I mean...

Another adobe moment...

Yea! Finally done with my final year project. Hmm... hope it's good enough though. Anyway... after completing my work I got down to doing some picture modification requested by SV since a long time ago... *^_^* However, here's the results....

Snow

Snowed yesterday night, quite heavily too. Played outside till 4.30 in the morning. Damnit... now my whole body's aching!... Woke up this morning at 1.30 in the afternoon. Then, went out and played again... the snow was thicker this time... more fun. Hmm... played too much today... didn't really do much. Must tune up and get back to work. Oh, something I found out... snow... nice to play with... but taste bad... *bleak, ptui* *>_<*

Night view... outside window. Snow fall...

Morning view, the day after. Rain fall

Feels great... if my pants were thicker...

This pic to show the heartless people...
Once you lie on the snow, this what they do...

It was fun playing in the snow!... Nearly had respiratory disease due to breathing in all the cold air the night before... Now all my clothes and shoes are wet...

the ever teasing sky...

Looking out the window from my 8' by 8' cell, gazing at the outside world in awe and wondering...

Why is it always gloomy, dark, cold, or raining outside when I want to go out for a walk...

Yet now, when I have things to do, stuck in my cell, the sun is shining down brightly and it looks like it's got a big smirk on it's face... *-_-"*

*bring down window blinds, continue staring at my 15" windows instead*

Silent night

A journey so silent only to be broken by the sound of footsteps and the occasional breezes... It's agonizing, but it's time to turn back before it's too late...

Most 'chai leung' Chinese New Year...

First!, Happy Chinese New Year!!! Gong Hei Fatt Choy!!! err... not good at those chinese proverbs... so, to everyone, may everything goes well in this dog's year and to all my batchmates, an addition, 'hok yip jun pou' and 'pou pou kou sing' lah... ^_^ ehehe. Hope this year is kinder to it's... subordinates (aiya.. dunno how to say it lah, those born under the year of the dog ler)...

Today it's the second day into the new year and I've had 2 grand dinners already so far. The so called 'reunion' and the one on the 1st day. Then another one tonight. Well... wha-to-do?? can't have a real celebration, have to make all these to create the atmosphere ler... (but then, I'm already getting spare tyres -_-") *sigh*... first year celebrating CNY without visiting relatives, without visiting friends, without eating freaking lots of cookies, without opening hampers, without playing mah jong, without BUYING NEW CLOTHES!!, without RECEIVING ANG PAUS!!!!!!!!! *slap forehead* no income this year, 'chai leung' or not?...

So, a year have past... let's see what have I done the past year which is worth noticing... Errmm... completed my IMU course, came over to Glasgow, study... nothing really worth noticing also... cheh... ok lah... hope this year.... no no... it WILL be great... it WILL!!!.... cause I'm going to start working soon!!! ^_^ *crazy... start work also so happy -_-"*

DM inducing Muah Chi

Today, Jen tried making 'Muah Chi' following a recipe she got from the internet. As a result, the 'Muah Chi' turned out just nice, BUT... (<---notice the big BUTt?) when completed with the coating of crushed peanuts and sugar... tadaa!! what do we get?? Yup, DM inducing 'Muah Chis'!!! What's DM?... oh.. it's short for Diabetes Melitus.

Lesson learned (not only from this event, but also from a few of past similar cases), do not place high expectations on recipes posted up on the internet. Free stuff always have flaws.... -_-"

Ohhh... ya by the way, 'Muah Chis' are one of my favorite snacks!!... Remembered back in Malaysia, used to get it everytime I back in Ipoh. RM 2 per packet and it's very nice... *^_^ nyam nyam*... Sold by a small little stall set up outside the house of the vendor.

*tong torong tong chiang... tong torong tong chiang...~~~* Wee... Chinese New Year is just around the corner!!! The dog's year, my year has approach, reminding me 2 cycles have past... *T^T*... Anyway this is the first time I'm celebrating chinese new year abroad and guess what?!? skiing on chinese new year's eve... ahahaha something new... and this year... *droop head* no ang pau... damn... "sit tai pun"...

Anyway, only yesterday, went made cookies with the 'sei tai' (literally, four big), and the results were... ermm.. not bad for my first time... ahahaha... We made peanut cookies which ermm.. was a wee bit too soft but taste great!! Soon we'll be making almond cookies... *droop head* yeah... that's the only chinese new year atmosphere we have... whatodo... so far from home... and not used to baking... Normally cookies come ready made and sealed in the old tin milo can, ready to be consumed. Don't even know what we going to cook up for the "reunion" dinner. Ohhh no!!.. no mah jong and kids money to cheat... ehehe... no ler I don't do that wan ler... *look away**whistle*

Making cookies... hands all oily...

Tadaa!!! Fresh from the oven!! Look mom!! I can bake too...

*~~ 'don't ask me to do it back home ler...' -_-"*

HL : Ok.. these two trays... mine!!... others all of you share lah... *^.^*

Me, HL, Jen and our production... looks alot... but when we put them in the containers it doesn't fill much... hmmm... maybe we did too much QC...

Hmm... this also reminds me... I'm going back soon... should I be sad? or happy? *ponder*.... *>_<>

Killer wind...

Today I spent the day... *sigh* like usual in my room... but I was glad... Glasgow's killer wind striked today.
Only had to face it when I got to go to the gym in the evening...
Fierce battle between men and the elements...
Wind so strong, even I sway in it...
Needless to say, *snigger* WY nearly flew off *buahahahaha!!!*... ehheeemmm...
What amazes me was that the direction of the wind can change to it's direct opposite in a split second!!O[]O... Hmm... maybe it's a normal thing here... but this is the first time I get to feel wind this strong and wild...
-_-" feel like jakun tim...

The hail was followed by rain... ok no problem... wait ler what to do?
After 10 mins... *Look out window ^o^...* Clear sky!!! Sunshine!!!
Get ready, go out... walk to bank... sky turn dark... drizzle... *-_-... ok nvm...*

In my room

Once again, a new semester has started... Oh before anything else... I would like to wish everyone a happy new year! Wishing everyone good health and happiness throughout the year.

Ok then, now that I've done with that, where was I, oh new semester... This semester is the last I'll be having in Glasgow before I graduate. *>_< crossed fingers XXXX* This is going to be one busy semester. Well it's good I guess... Then I'll be able to get unnecessary things,... things that could never happen,... off my mind.

At this very moment, most my colleagues are in their labs doing their researches. As for me, I'm doing pharmaceutical care. I went to the hospital to get datas that I need before my holidays. Now I'm processing them and waiting for any updates from my supervisor and other group members. Besides, I'm also studying too. Realised I'm really left far far behind. *Damn!! What kind of pharmacist am I??* So, in other words, I'm now constrained within a cube I call my room.

Ok then, I have to get back to struggling to keep awake and read my notes.

To A-L, I've updated... hehe didn't know there are still ppl reading this boring stuffs...
