Highland Trip

The past weekend, which was the last Saturday, I went on a highland trip with Sheryin's gang, Njo, Chien Hoon and three of their friends; Congo, Steven and Edward. We rented two cars each driven by Congo and Edward up to the Isle of Skye, located northwards from Glasgow where we spent the night. I was told that the trip straight to the Isle of Skye from Glasgow would take about 4 to 5 hours.

The trip started at 10.30 on a beautiful Saturday morning. Well, that morning, I was told to get ready by 9, so I woke at 7am. Quite tired, since I had a hard time sleeping the night before, but, excited though I was kept me awake. Then, on our way up to the Isle of Skye, we stopped at some interesting places chosen by Congo and Edward, who organised this trip. The first stop was Loch Lomond. This was a quick stop just to take some photographs. We also stopped by a few towns such as Oban and Fort William, on our way up. Well I can't really remember all the places we stopped as there were also short toilet stops :-) Well we finally reached our lodging at 12 midnight. Then, the guys cooked supper. After we had our fill, we chatted, played some games and then finally took our shower and slept at 4am. Haha... we had to wake at 6.30am the next morning.

Surprisingly, everyone was quite active the next morning. Really pity the drivers who had to drive us around and back to Glasgow. Anyway, on Sunday, we went around the Isle of Skye and climbed a rocky mountain, which I had forgotten the name. We climbed quite high actually and the girls weren't as enthused as the guys though. It was really windy up there and the winds are strong and cold. Going up was easier and going down was really a problem. The guys had to guide the girls down one by one and it took quite some time. Well, after all that, we tracked our way out and went on to other places. We visited a waterfall and some castles by the sea side. The view were beautiful. Then we started our journey home after dinner at about 11.00pm. By now, the drivers were really tired and sleepy. We had to rush home as we have classes the next day and the rest had to go to work. Anyway, we reached Glasgow safely at 2.00am.

I don't know about the others but I went straight to bed after washing up. Was dead tired. During the whole trip back, I had to force myself to stay awake and to make sure the driver stayed awake. Well, I would say on a whole the trip was really fantastic and the people we went with are really great fun. However, in my opinion, the duration of the trip should be set longer so we don't have to rush and have more time to enjoy the scenes and everyone wouldn't be so tired...
